The online Student Handbook provides all enrolled students with information regarding students' rights and responsibilities as members of the University community.
It is the student's responsibility to become familiar with and to adhere to all academic and University policies, procedures, and deadlines that are included in the Student Handbook and other sources including, but not limited to, the University catalog. It is also the student's responsibility to:
- Be proactive to research all available services and resources and ask questions.
- Utilize information made available via , the University website, and the University catalog.

- Regularly visit academic advising to obtain pertinent academic information and curricular guidance.

- Take initiative to participate fully in required scholastic duties set forth in each course syllabus.
- Know and satisfy all financial obligations.

- Exhibit integrity and ethical behavior at all times.
- Be aware of personal safety and security policies on campus, such as the Alcohol and Drug Use policy, Anti-Hazing Initiative, and the Student Code of Conduct.
The University has the right to change policies and procedures at any time as necessary. While reasonable effort will be made to publicize such changes, a student is encouraged to seek current information from appropriate offices, because responsibility for complying with all applicable requirements ultimately rests with the student.

Accreditation Overview

Alcohol and Other Drugs Policy
The purpose of this policy is to educate the University community regarding the harmful effects associated with the use of alcohol, other drugs and other addictive substances while identifying education and prevention programs offered to students, faculty and staff regarding these matters. Anti-Hazing Initiative

Jeanne Clery Act
The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act. Schools covered by the Clery Act are required to publish an Annual Security Report (ASR), disclosing their campus' security policies and crime statistics for the previous three years. The Annual Security Report is located on the UPD webpage, in addition to containing information regarding campus safety policies and crime statistics, this document includes helpful safety and security resources found on campus and in the community, information regarding use and access to the campus, and timely warnings when crimes occur. A paper copy is available on request made to the University Police Department. The University also has various Campus Security Authorities (CSA) who are designated to report crimes when brought to their attention. Registration Policies

Religious Accommodations for Students and Employees
The University recognizes and values students’ and employees’ rights to observe and practice their religious beliefs. This Regulation sets forth the University’s willingness to provide reasonable accommodations requested on the basis of religious observance, practice, and belief. It also provides information on how a student or employee may notify the University if they believe that they have been denied a reasonable accommodation. Reporting a Crime
The University has several mechanisms available to report a crime or infraction. For Emergencies, please contact the University Police Department (UPD) by dialing "9-1-1" from any telephone on campus. Also throughout campus there are "Code-Blue Emergency Phones", these can be used by pushing the button and UPD dispatch will respond. When reporting emergencies please be prepared to:
- Briefly state the emergency or the nature of your call
- Clearly identify yourself
- Provide your location
- If applicable, provide a description of any suspect(s)
To report a non-emergency crime and to remain anonymous, students, faculty, and staff may fill out the UPD " Silent Witness Form." All information provided through the use of this form will be kept confidential.

The University also has several Campus Security Authorities (CSAs) on campus, these are individuals that have a significant responsibility for students and campus activities. CSAs are required to report any of the Clery reportable crimes that are brought to their attention to law enforcement. Textbook Affordability
College textbooks can be expensive, and students sometimes delay or avoid textbook purchases because of cost, negatively impacting success, access, and academic progress. Timely adoption of textbooks, use of OERs and other low-cost materials, and digital course material programs including the Follett Access program can all contribute to textbook affordability. Title IX
