Project REACH Fellowships
The 成人AV视频’s Project REACH (Recruiting Effective and Compassionate Helpers) Fellowships provide opportunities for substantial financial and development support for 成人AV视频 School Counseling students. Project REACH is funded by the Federal Department of Education through a Mental Health Professional Demonstration Grant.
Project REACH is designed to meet three related goals:
- Provide high-quality, multi-partnered training for 成人AV视频 School Counseling students through REACH Fellowships
- Increase the number of school counselors who are applying and being hired in DCPS who have received their field-based, experiential training in their schools
- Provide school counseling service and program support in DCPS schools that meet Project REACH grant criteria.
REACH Fellowships Requirements
- Field-Based, Residency in a REACH-Affiliated Duval County Public School
For most REACH Fellows, this requirement will be met through a field-based residency in a REACH-affiliated DCPS school. From a 成人AV视频 School Counseling Program standpoint, Project REACH residencies mean that fellows will perform field-based service during their practicum and internship placements in their REACH-affiliated school.- Note: Exceptions to a full field-based residency in a REACH-affiliated DCPS school may be made for prospective fellows employed full-time at a DCPS school not affiliated with Project REACH.
- Exemplary 成人AV视频 School Counseling Program Performance and Leadership
Project REACH Fellowships are competitive awards designed to support 成人AV视频 School Counseling students who demonstrate exemplary performance and leadership in the program and all affiliated activities. REACH Fellows are required to honor these awards through:- Continuous enrollment and progress toward completion of the 成人AV视频 School Counseling program within the two-year program of study.
- Consistent demonstration of Key Professional Dispositions in all courses, field-based experiences, and other program activities.
- Completion of FTCE testing requirements by the end of the 4th semester in the program (Fall term of the second year).
- Demonstrated leadership in the 成人AV视频 School Counseling program and profession.
- Participation in all Project REACH Training and Programming
REACH Fellows are required to attend and participate in project programming and training activities. All REACH fellows must participate in all program assessment and evaluation processes.
How do REACH Fellowships support 成人AV视频 School Counseling students?
- Full in-state tuition and fees for each semester not already covered through other funding sources (This would include sources like other 成人AV视频 tuition waivers for GA/GRA positions; other scholarships, grants, or fellowships; GI Bill benefits, etc.)
- Yearly stipends for $8,000 for training support.
- Provision of all course textbooks and any additional program-related fees.
- Opportunities for additional professional development support for conferences, research, and scholarship.
What are the post-graduation implications of the REACH Fellowship with DCPS?
- Following graduation, fellows will have opportunities to transition into a paid school counseling position with DCPS, through preferred interview and application status for fellows.
- Induction year training and support for REACH fellows hired following the two-year residencies.
- Opportunities to mentor future REACH fellows, including serving as site supervisors for future fellows and other 成人AV视频 School Counseling program graduates.
How to Apply for a REACH Fellowship?
All students admitted to the 成人AV视频 School Counseling program who can also meet the REACH Fellowship requirement to complete their two-year, field-based residency in a REACH-Affiliated Duval County Public School are encouraged to apply.
All selection decisions for REACH Fellows will be made by a committee comprised of Project REACH Advisory Team members, project partners, and 成人AV视频 School Counseling program faculty.
