The AI Lab at the 成人AV视频 is a research group within the School of Computing. It focuses on solving significant problems in fields such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, and bioinformatics.

    Microsoft Copilot is the official generative AI tool available to all 成人AV视频 faculty, students, and staff. It is available at  when you .

    Software traditionally used in instruction has also greatly benefited from advancements in artificial intelligence. Review Technologies and Tools, which includes software available to students in the Virtual Lab for specific system AI capabilities and links to vendor tutorials.

    Generative AI can help you ideate and customize interactive activities to increase engagement in the classroom. Consider these activities:

  • How can I limit the use of AI?
    Traditional teaching methods are still effective at gauging learning and encouraging personal thought. Consider these activities:
    • Oral Exams or Presentations
    • In-Class Writing

    • Personal Reflection Assignments
    • Monitor progress through drafts, mockups, and prototypes
  • How can I protect against misuse or plagiarism of AI in student coursework?
    Familiarize yourself with these resources and set clear expectations with your students on how AI may or may not be used in assignments. 
  • How can I identify generative AI in student coursework?
    With recent advances in artificial intelligence, it's becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish between human-generated and AI-generated content. However, there are usually clues. 
    Here are some tips and tools for identifying AI-generated text:

    • The Content is Inconsistent: AI-generated text might contain logical inconsistencies, abrupt topic changes, or an abnormal degree of repetition.

    •  The Content Lacks Depth: While AI can generate relevant content, it often lacks depth and insight because our varied perspectives on complex topics come from lived experience and human expertise.

    • Unusually Poor Grammar and Syntax: Keep an eye out for unusual phrasing, grammatical errors, or the misuse of common idioms because generative AI works by assuming the next word in a sentence according to observed patterns. This reality means artificial intelligence gets language wrong sometimes.

    • Fails Fact-Checking: AI generates content based on its training data and doesn't fact-check the information it generates. So, confidently stated misinformation may indicate artificially generated content.

    • Fails Plagiarism Checkers: Turnitin initially claimed to identify AI-generated content with 98% to 99% accuracy; however, third-party reviews have revealed higher rates of false positives. Additionally, OpenAI (the creators of ChatGPT) admitted that they could not reliably detect the use of their software. 

  • How can AI tools aid in research?

    AI tools can be utilized in the research process to expedite time-consuming tasks, allowing researchers to dedicate more time to valuable scholarly work and interpretation.

    • Brainstorm research concepts and generate ideas. 
    • Automate literature reviews and track references.
    • Analyze large data sets to identify patterns and relationships.
    • Summarize documents and reference articles into key points.
    • Translate research from foreign languages.
    • Transcribe video and audio recordings.
    • Streamline administrative tasks.
