GROW YOUR CAREER

The Osprey Leadership Initiative is an immersive experience designed for faculty and staff to foster growth through both practice and theory. Once participants are selected, their career and leadership aspirations are identified.  Each participant is then matched with a real-world, experiential assignment within the university, developed in collaboration with their mentor and supervisor. As the project unfolds, they also engage in leadership curriculum sessions to build their conceptual understanding. Throughout the experience, a member of the Program Steering Committee provides ongoing support and check-ins to ensure progress and alignment. At the conclusion of the assignment, participants reflect on their experience and may choose to continue their leadership development with new opportunities tailored to their growth.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Program Structure

The Osprey Leadership Initiative is designed to be an experiential program, so participants will be paired with a mentor and be given a real-world project to manage. A cohort of 5-7 participants will be selected over the course of one year. Here is what to expect:

  1. Initial assessment of participant's current leadership skills and areas for growth.
  2. Participant is assigned a mentor and engages in a one-on-one meeting to go over their results, understand their opportunities, and set goals for their time in the program.
  3. A real-world univesity project is assigned to the participant, their supervisor and mentor are notified and work begins.
  4. The participant takes a short series of self-paced, leadership development courses provided courtesy of the Taylor Leadership Institute through .
  5. A representative of the Leadership Program Steering Committee checks in with the participant throughout the course of the program to provide support.

This program is designed to be tailored to the individual goals and needs of each participant, so everyone's experience is unique. The project that is assigned to the participant will reflect their long-term goals and provide them with valuable skills and experience to assist them in advancing their career at the Nest.

Eligibility Requirements

Both faculty and staff are eligible to apply for this program. The eligibility criteria is as follows:

Faculty

  • At least 3 years of employment at 成人AV视频 by the beginning of the Leadership Growth Program
  • Desire to develop leadership skills

Staff

  • At least 3 years of employment at 成人AV视频 by the beginning of the Leadership Growth Program
  • Currently serve in a position with at least one direct report
  • Desire to develop leadership skills
  • The employee’s unit supervisor agrees to provide release time (upon proper notice) for the employee to participate in the program

 Benefits of Participation

  • Participants will gain hands-on experience in a leadership setting at 成人AV视频.
  • Earn industry-recognized leadership training and certification at no cost.
  • Participants can highlight this program on their annual performance evaluation. 
  • Network with senior university leadership and gain one-on-one coaching and mentorship.
  • Upon completion, participants may be given priority consideration for interim leadership roles in the event of vancies. 

Application Process

The 2025 cohort will be selected in the Fall. Applications are open now and are due by May 16, 2025 at 5:00 PM

  • How long is the program?
    The program runs for one year, but participants may extend their time in the program if needed.
  • What kind of projects might be assigned?

    Every project is tailored to the strengths and areas of growth of each participant. Projects are typically given under the direction of a vice president and are designed to give the participant hands-on experience with leadership. 

    Example Project: Work with the Chief Human Resources Officer to create a more streamlined and efficient employee onboarding process at the university.

  • What if I don't meet the requirements, but still want to participate?
    We are actively working to create leadership development opportunities for 成人AV视频 employees at all stages in their careers. If you are not eligible, we encourage you to apply anyway and we will work to provide a different more suitable opportunity to meet your needs.
  • What is the time commitment?
    We expect that participants may need 8-10 hours a week to work on their project and/or the leadership curriculum. It is vital for participants to talk with their supervisor prior to applying to ensure they can obtain the necessary release time.
  • What if I participate, but cannot complete the program?
    We will strive to work with every participant to ensure their needs are met, but in the event you cannot complete the program, your project may be reassigned or canceled. You will be eligibile to apply again in the future, but we cannot guarantee you will be selected.
