Hicks Honors College Fellows Awards Program

Hicks Honors College Fellow Awards are scholarships awarded to Hicks Honors students to help them complete unique educational experiences such as, but not limited to, conducting research, travel to domestic and international conferences to present research, participation in career-focused internships, attending a conference to explore future career options, Honors in the Major requirements, etc. 

Requirements: 

• Current Hicks Honors College student
• Minimum 3.20 ³ÉÈËAVÊÓƵ Institutional GPA
• Demonstrate Honors College progression
• Scholarship must fit within a student's cost of attendance

Hicks Honors College Study Abroad Scholarship

The Hicks Honors College offers generous scholarships for study abroad experiences. Honors students are eligible for funding to participate in up to two semesters abroad through ³ÉÈËAVÊÓƵ study abroad trips or ³ÉÈËAVÊÓƵ university exchange trips. Honors students should show Honors degree progression and have a current ³ÉÈËAVÊÓƵ Institutional GPA of 3.20 or greater to receive funding for a second trip. 

*Note that funding for domestic travel (to conferences, internships, etc. within the U.S.) is normally done through the Hicks Fellows Awards Scholarship.  

Requirements:

• Current Hicks Honors College student
• Minimum 3.20 Institutional ³ÉÈËAVÊÓƵ GPA
• Demonstrate Honors College progression
• Proof of acceptance to the intended study abroad program
• Scholarship must fit within a student's cost of attendance

Before you apply to the Hicks Study Abroad Scholarship, we ask that you please also look at applying to these two external scholarships if you are eligible: 

• Benjamin A. Gilman Study Abroad Scholarship (must be Federal Pell Grant eligible)
• Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant (must have a 3.75 GPA or higher)
• Freeman Asia Study Abroad Scholarship (must be studying abroad in Asia)

Vulcan Materials Company Foundation Endowed Scholarship 

Vulcan Materials Co. is the nation's largest producer of construction aggregates. Both incoming and current students who declare an interest or major in are eligible to apply to this need-based scholarship. Students are required to have submitted a FASFA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

Requirements: 

• Current Hicks Honors College Student
• Maintain a minimum 3.20 Institutional ³ÉÈËAVÊÓƵ GPA
• Demonstrate Honors College progression
• Major in Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing, Transportation and Logistics, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computing and Information Sciences, or Building Construction.
• Scholarship must fit within a student's cost of attendance

Qualified students who are registered with ScholarshipUniverse will be considered for funding. 

Hicks Merit Scholarship

The Dean of the Hicks Honors College will award this scholarship to Hicks Honors College students who have accomplished a meritorious achievement. 

Requirements:

• Maintain a minimum 3.20 ³ÉÈËAVÊÓƵ Institutional GPA
• Scholarship must fit within a student's cost of attendance.

Marnie Jones Scholarship

Named for the first Director of the Honors Program (1993-2001) and former Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences (2006-2012), the Marnie Jones scholarship is a one year scholarship awarded to a Hicks Honors College student who participates in a ³ÉÈËAVÊÓƵ-affiliated community engagement or community service project. Preference is given to a student in the College of Arts and Sciences, and current Marnie Jones Scholarship recipients are able to reapply each year. 

Requirements: 

• Current Hicks Honors College Student
• Minimum 3.20 ³ÉÈËAVÊÓƵ Institutional GPA
• Participation in a ³ÉÈËAVÊÓƵ-affiliated community engagement/service project
• Demonstrate Honors College progression
• Scholarship must fit within a student's cost of attendance. 

Qualified students who are registered with ScholarshipUniverse will be considered for funding.
