Starfit Yoga
Kintu Makanji started her yoga journey after the birth of her son to help her gain energy, relieve stress, lose weight, and increase her patience. In 1999, Kintu earned her bachelor’s degree in biology and went on to work as a project manager and organics analyst at an environmental conservation lab. In 2008 she started pursuing Yoga Teacher Training and completed over 1000 hours of yoga certifications by 2018. She taught yoga classes with the goal that one day she would facilitate Yoga Teacher Training and open a Yoga Studio. Her passion for yoga grew along with her desire to share it with her community and the idea for Starfit Yoga was born.
First Kintu realized she needed help to move forward with the business, so she sought the assistance of the Small Business Development Center at 成人AV视频. Working with her SBDC consultant, Kintu was able to find a great location for the buildout of her new studio and got assistance with navigating the permit process for building. Additionally, Kintu received help with her business acumen, from business planning and structure to marketing strategy and a grand opening.
Starfit Yoga officially opened in July with a grand opening, ribbon cutting event! Starfit empowers individuals to enhance their physical and mental well‐being through Yoga and other fitness modalities. Yoga, as a system of self‐care brings vitality, clarity, deep relaxation, and peace of mind. Kintu’s mission for Starfit Yoga is to create an inspiring and nurturing environment that encourages practitioners to listen to their body and progress at their own pace.
“I would definitely recommend the SBDC...What an invaluable resource! I felt supported throughout the whole process. My consultant was very supportive with connecting me to others in the business community that could support my business needs, mentorship as I navigated the buildout, and throughout the opening process. Christian was there at our grand opening and did a ribbon cutting ceremony which was momentous and special and something we will remember for a long time to come.”
