Skybound Youth Summer Camp Policy and Guidelines

Welcome to Skybound!

We are excited to have your child join us for a fun-filled and enriching summer experience at our university campus. This document outlines our camp policies, expectations, and guidelines to ensure every participant has a safe, enjoyable, and educational time. Please read through the following policies carefully.


Camp Overview

Skybound Youth Summer Camp is designed for children ages 9–16 and provides an opportunity for campers to engage in creative activities. The camp is structured to promote personal growth, teamwork, and a passion for learning.


Camp Hours

  • Camp Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Drop-off: Begins at 8:45 AM
  • Pick-up: Ends at 4:15 PM

Please ensure that your child is dropped off and picked up promptly. We recommend arriving early for drop-off to avoid delays. Skybound Club is a before- and/or after-care program that can be added on to your registration for an additional fee.


Registration and Payment

  • Registration Deadline: A camper’s registration documents and full payment are due no later than two weeks before camp begins.
  • Fees: Camp fees vary.
  • Payment Methods: We accept credit/debit cards, checks, and online payment via our secure portal.
  • Cancellation Policy: We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel your camper’s registration, please note the following:
    • Cancellations made more than 14 days before the camp start date will receive a 90% refund.
    • Cancellations made between 5 and 13 days before the camp start date will receive a 50% refund.
    • No refunds or transfer requests will be accepted within five (5) business days of the start of the camp or if your camper does not attend.

Health and Safety

Your child's safety and well-being are our top priorities.

Medical Forms and Health History

All campers are required to submit medical information, which includes information about allergies, medications, and any health conditions. This information must be submitted before the first day of camp.

Medication Policy

If your child requires medication during camp hours, please inform the camp director to ensure camp staff will be able to administer the medication.

Illness or Injury

If your child becomes ill or injured while at camp, a camp staff member will contact you immediately. If your child is exhibiting symptoms of contagious illness, we ask that they stay home for the safety of others.


Camp Code of Conduct

We are committed to providing a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for all campers. All campers are expected to adhere to the following behavior guidelines:

Respect and Kindness

  • Treat staff, peers, and all camp property with respect.
  • Bullying, aggressive behavior, or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.

Behavior Expectations

  • Campers should listen to and follow instructions given by camp staff at all times.
  • Use of inappropriate language, violence, or disruptive behavior may result in removal from camp activities or dismissal from the camp without a refund.

Dress Code

  • Campers should wear age-appropriate attire at camp. Clothing should not display lewd or offensive text or graphics. Shirts, pants/shorts, and shoes must be worn at all times.
  • Closed-toe shoes must be worn at all times for safety.

Personal Belongings

  • Campers should not bring valuables, electronics (e.g., smartphones, tablets), or inappropriate items to camp. The university is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • Any items that may pose a risk to the safety or enjoyment of others (e.g., knives, matches, fireworks, etc.) are strictly prohibited.

Camp Communication

We believe in maintaining open communication with parents throughout the camp. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our camp office.

  • Emergency Notification: If we need to contact you during camp hours, we will reach out via the emergency contact information provided.

Food and Snacks

  • Lunch: Campers will be provided with daily lunches. The menu will vary.
  • Alternative Lunches: If your child does not like the lunch menu for the day or has specific dietary preferences, they are welcome to bring their own lunch from home.
  • Snacks: Campers are welcome to bring their own snacks, which can be consumed according to the instructor during designated mid-morning and mid-afternoon breaks. For those participating in Skybound Club, you are welcome to consume snacks during that time as well.
  • Nut-Free Policy: Due to food allergies, we ask that campers do not bring any snacks or lunches containing nuts or nut products.

Transportation and Parking

  • Drop-off and Pick-up Location: Adam Herbert University Center, 12000 Alumni Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32224
  • Parking: Parents are encouraged to park at Adam Herbert University Center (Lot 16)  when dropping off or picking up their child. Please do not leave your car unattended in the drop-off zone.
  • ID Requirement for Pick-up: For the safety and security of all participants, adults picking up children must present a valid ID at the time of pick-up. We will only release children to the authorized adults listed on the registration paperwork. Please ensure that all designated pick-up individuals are prepared to show their ID.

Disciplinary Action

We believe in fostering a positive and supportive camp environment. However, if a camper repeatedly violates camp rules or engages in behavior that is disruptive to the camp community, we may ask the camper to leave the camp. In this case, no refund will be provided.


Camp Staff and Supervision

Our camp staff consists of experienced educators and administrators who are trained in first aid and emergency procedures. The camper-to-staff ratio is maintained at a level to ensure safety and individual attention.
